LIBRARY POLICIES


BOOK CIRCULATION • Students may check out up to three books at a time. • A Ridley High School ID card must be presented to check out library materials. • Fiction, nonfiction, audiobooks, magazines, and Kindles circulate for three weeks. • Books may be renewed unless another student has placed a hold on the item. OVERDUE FINES • Fiction, nonfiction, audiobooks, Kindles, and magazines: 10¢ per day (up to $5.00) • Students will receive an overdue notice in Homeroom when the book is one week overdue. • Students will receive a 2nd overdue notice when the book is two weeks overdue. • Please return the overdue book to the library immediately; overdue fines under $2.00 will be waived. • Student borrowing privileges will be suspended until all overdue materials are returned to the library and all outstanding fines have been paid. IF YOU LOSE OR DAMAGE A BOOK: When you check out library materials, you take responsibility for them. Therefore, if you lose or damage a book, audiobook, or Kindle you must pay the full cost so that a replacement may be purchased. If you eventually locate the book, bring it back to the library and we will refund your money. ACCEPTABLE USE OF LIBRARY COMPUTERS • Library computers are for homework, research, and other assignments. • Library computers are NOT for downloading music, social networking, or gaming. • Library computers are monitored! After one warning, you computer will be shut down and you will lose computer privileges for the day. PRINTING • Students may print up to ten pages per day at no cost. • Please print only "printer-friendly" documents or use PrintFriendly.com to minimize wasted paper. • Copies can be made on the library copier (just ask for help!). LIBRARY LUNCH PASSES • Students may visit the library during their lunch period with a lunch pass. • Lunch passes may be obtained from the teacher assigning the work. • Please remember to sign in when you spend your lunch period in the library.
